Take a peek into our history

Located on the edge of Saline County, Sweet Springs is situated at the intersection of Interstate 70 and Route 127. However, our roots go deeper than these thoroughfares. Founded in the 1600s as Claysville and later renamed Brownville in 1834, our city has history. It wasn't until a tornado drastically altered the city in 1887 that the city was renamed for a second time, becoming the Sweet Springs we know today.
